Job summary

Aspen Grove Behavioral Hospital in Utah is seeking a Registered Dietitian to lead dietary services in a psychiatric setting. You will supervise the kitchen team, approve hospital menus, assess patient nutrition, and advise on dietary plans for individuals and families.

We offer a full-time, salaried position with benefits, PTO, 401(k), and growth opportunities across UHS locations. The role requires a Master's degree, Utah RD license, and experience with Joint Commission standards.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required (effective 2020).
• Utah Registered Dietitian (RD) license required.
• Food Handler's permit required.
• 1–3 years dietitian experience in an acute psychiatric hospital setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of The Joint Commission standards.
• Must pass pre-employment background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Serves as Dietary/Kitchen supervisor and mentors Lead Chef.
• Approves menus including modified diets and conducts nutritional assessments as needed.
• Counsels patients and families on dietary plans, food choices, and nutrition principles.
• Monitors performance improvement plans within Dietary Services and contributes to patient care plans.
• Coordinates Dietary Services within The Joint Commission (TJC) standards.

• Full-Time, salaried non-exempt, Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm, with some weekends, as needed

Your goals and objectives include:

• The Registered Dietitian also serves as the Dietary/Kitchen supervisor (provides supervision/mentorship to the Lead Chef)
• Approves menus including modified diets from the hospital, provides nutritional assessments for patients as needed, and counsel's patients and their families on dietary plans, food selections, preparation and nutritional principles.
• Monitors the performance improvement plans of the Dietary Services department and provides input in the development and implementation of patient care plans in relation to nutritional needs.
• Coordinate Dietary Services Department within The Joint Commission (TJC) standards

• Knowledge of all facets of nutritional and dietary planning, including unique dietary needs of adolescents and adults age groups.

• Master's degree REQUIRED (effective 2020)

• One (1) - three (3) years dietitian experience in an acute psychiatric hospital setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of The JOINT COMMISSION standards
• Must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass thorough pre-employment background check and drug test
