Job description

Clinical Dietitian Integrative Medicine Outpatient

**This position is eligible for our $5,000 commitment bonus.**

Duke Integrative Medicine, a multidisciplinary clinic that takes a whole-person, patient-centered approach to healthcare, is seeking an outpatient, on-site 0.75 FTE Clinical dietitian (level 2) for their dynamic clinical environment.

Ideal candidates will have completed trainings in integrative and functional nutrition therapy provided by credentialed providers, possess interest and experience in integrative modalities that may include body/mind practices, and have 2 or more years of direct patient care experience, preferably in an outpatient setting. A Master’s degree is preferred.

General Description of the Job Class

Level II

Function in a supervisory role as a team leader, in addition to duties and responsibilities of coordinating all phases of nutrition care, including nutrition assessment, care planning, monitoring, education, and counseling of outpatients in various settings. Perform duties in support of and in compliance with performance improvement plans, JCAHO, and other licensing, accrediting, and regulatory agencies.

Duties and Responsibilities of this Level

• Perform all duties required to complete monthly performance improvement reports.
• Assist the department director in reviewing and updating department policies and procedures.
• Plan and coordinate the work schedule and daily workload of clinical dietitians and dietetic interns.
• Other duties as assigned by the department director.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education

Baccalaureate degree in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutritional Sciences, Human Nutrition, or a comparable major.

Successful completion of a coordinated program or dietetic internship of not less than 900 hours under the supervision of a Registered Dietitian.

Experience

Two years in an acute care environment with one-year supervisory experience preferred; experience may be waived for specific positions.

Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification

Registered Dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) by the North Carolina Board of Dietetics and Nutrition, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
