Job description

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient screening in accordance with specialized clinical guidelines for those at specific nutritional risk.
• Implement targeted and specific nutrition interventions based on medical conditions. Provide customized nutrition education to patients, families, and caregivers.
• Develop intervention plans that include appropriate feeding routes, modes, and nutrition prescriptions tailored to each patient's needs, following physicians' orders.
• Collaborate with the Food and Nutrition Services team to enhance the patient experience.
• Work routinely with high-acuity patients requiring advanced competencies to provide expert-level care and nutrition therapy in Neonatal Intensive Care Units, Pediatric units, enteral/parenteral nutrition support, and order writing privileges, including specialties such as oncology, renal, diabetes, and gerontology.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited dietetics program (ACEND - Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition Dietetics).
• Three (3) years of experience in an acute care hospital or similar setting working with patients in complex care levels and specialized populations.
• Registered Dietitian License - required upon hire.

The Clinical Dietitian II assesses the nutritional status of patients using recognized assessment tools and counsels patients, families, and caregivers on appropriate nutrition plans to improve disease or condition management. They support, model, and train Clinical Dietitian I staff in core behaviors and responsibilities of the department and organization.
