Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking Clinical Dietitians to deliver Home Based Primary Care nutrition care, coordinate with other health care providers, Veterans, and caregivers, and apply whole health principles to patient-centered goals.

The role requires RDN/RD credentials, adherence to ACEND standards, and collaboration with Food Operations to support safe, high-quality nutrition care and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Citizen requirement per VA policy for appointment eligibility
• RDN or RD credential required; must be registered with CDR
• Non-credentialed Dietitians may be appointed temporarily if eligible and complete program requirements
• May be appointed at GS-07 or GS-09; promotion contingent on obtaining RDN credential
• ACEND accreditation and verification statement required for non-credentialed candidates

Responsibilities

• Conduct nutrition assessments using the Nutritional Care Process (NCP) to establish diagnoses
• Develop and implement Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) and monitor outcomes
• Collaborate with Food Operations Section to enhance Veterans’ dining experience and satisfaction
