Position Summary
Maintains good rapport and cooperative relationships. Approaches conflict constructively. Helps identify problems, offers solutions, and participates in their resolution.
Maintains confidentiality of patient, physician, employee, and visitor information. Discusses sensitive information only among appropriate personnel in private settings.
Maintains knowledge to perform job duties, assumes responsibility for safe performance, and reports hazards immediately. Completes Patient Safety Learning Defects tools as appropriate.
Demonstrates self-directed learning and aligns behavior with the Mission, Vision, and Values of Chelsea Hospital/Trinity Health.
Provides quality patient care considering age, development, and cultural needs, demonstrating competency in clinical practice.
Identifies and assists in resolving safety, sanitation, and environmental issues.
Practices effective communication in all interactions.
Promotes a positive work environment through teamwork.
Revises patient education materials as needed.
Contributes to writing, reviewing, and updating departmental policies.
Handles RD workload over weekends, such as screening low-risk referrals and providing diet education.
Coordinates ordering and maintaining office supplies with the Foodservice department secretary.
Complies with hospital staff requirements, including annual mandatory training.
Provides educational services to other departments as needed.
Fulfills all clinical RD responsibilities, including nutrition screening, assessment of at-risk patients, follow-up on TPN or tube-fed patients, calorie count tabulation, and diet/nutrient-drug interaction education.
Participates in multidisciplinary committees and task forces as assigned.
