Job description

Brooklyn Center is actively seeking an experienced Chief Clinical Dietitian for our Skilled Nursing Facility in Brooklyn, New York.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Provides information about clinical “best practices” to the Company and Clinical dietary team.
  2. Works with regional and local clinical staff to establish quarterly and annual performance improvement goals and writes quarterly QAPI plans to reach those goals.
  3. Supports and facilitates Company and facility values, practice standards, and ethics policies and procedures.
  4. Provides training for dietitians regarding company policies and standards of best practice.
  5. Demonstrates customer service principles in all interactions (staff-staff, staff to resident/patient, staff to family members, management to line staff, etc.).
  6. Reviews and supports outcomes of Food Satisfaction Surveys.
  7. Conducts clinical assessments, develops care plans, and reviews MDS.
  8. Participates in comprehensive care conferences.
  9. Provides consultation on labor management.
  10. Participates in Food Council and resident satisfaction surveys.
  11. Leads dietary staff development.
  12. Monitors clinical outcomes measurements and reports findings.
  13. Provides consultation on staffing patterns and plans.
  14. Implements and oversees Quality Assurance / Process Improvement (QAPI) systems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (but not limited to):

  1. Bachelor’s degree in nutrition from a nationally accredited college/university.
  2. National registration from the Commission on Dietetic Registration and licensure from the NY State Department of Education.
  3. At least two years of experience as a clinical dietitian and one year in nutrition and/or food service management.
  4. Excellent command of the English language, both oral and written.
  5. Proficiency in computer skills (Outlook, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, clinical software systems/EMR, internet).
  6. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  7. Proven management and leadership abilities.
  8. Experience in education, teaching, and training adult learners.
  9. Knowledge of regulatory processes (Federal and State Regulations).
  10. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Nutritional Services.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Ability to relate positively and effectively with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and staff.
  • Interest in working with long-term care residents and the elderly.
