Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Informatics Research Assistant to support a multi-center portfolio involving pediatric opioid and post-surgical pain control research. The role focuses on data extraction from hospital records, data validation, and coordinating statistical analyses with the research team.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in epidemiology or statistics, with a Master’s preferred, and experience in SAS, STATA, and Epilnfo.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in epidemiology or statistics required.
• Master's degree in epidemiology or statistics preferred.
• Experience with SAS; STATA and Epilnfo preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Enters and extracts data from electronic hospital records and other sources to complete data collection.
• Validates data entry and compares data from electronic sources with manual records.
• Performs initial statistical analyses to form large databases from multiple sources and ensures data abstraction accuracy.
• Coordinates data analysis plan with statisticians and leadership; keeps detailed records of processes.
• Collaborates with clinical staff and study PIs to support research workflows.
