Central Maine Healthcare is looking for a Clinical Coordinator RN to join their Wound Care team at the Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute!
This is a full-time position.
Position Summary:
Provides oversight, coordination, and clinical leadership to a specific nursing department by demonstrating research-based and best practices in clinical and leadership skills in providing patient care. The Clinical Coordinator is a member of the CMMC Nursing Leadership Team and serves as a leadership representative with commensurate authority in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
Education and Experience:
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Maine.
- A motivated, independent individual who can organize workload effectively.
- Specialty certification preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years experience in acute patient care.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS Certification required. ACLS within 6 months of hire.
Essential Duties:
- Demonstrates knowledge of research utilization, evidence-based practice, and best practice recommendations, facilitating their application in the care delivery model.
- Maintains a collaborative working relationship within the department and with other departments on patient care and performance improvement activities.
- Facilitates all admissions, transfers, and discharges, communicating census fluctuations to the Nursing Supervisor as necessary.
- Actively integrates new staff into the unit culture.
- Reviews orientation tools with staff and meets with them weekly.
- Monitors the acuity of patient conditions, triaging and directing patient flow to assure prompt high-quality nursing care.
- Available to Providers and associates in the absence of the patient’s primary nurse and/or care coordinator.
- Reviews and adjusts staffing based on the needs of the oncoming shift, assigning, leading, and delegating staff accordingly.
- Acts as a resource for staff in conflict resolution, resources, and patient care management.
- Maintains suitable equipment and supply inventories, collaborating with the manager for replacements, repairs, and new purchases.
- Directs all safety measures to prevent accidents or harm to patients, staff, or equipment.
- Oversees maintenance of unit manuals and education resources.
- Anticipates current and future staffing needs, overseeing scheduling as directed by the manager.
- Provides an atmosphere for staff to express tensions, conflicts, concerns, and problems.
- Attends CMOS education when available, incorporating standard work into daily routine.
- Promotes customer satisfaction in collaboration with assigned RN and recovery of customer dissatisfaction.
- Demonstrates flexibility, organization, and the ability to function under stress while respecting confidentiality.
- Participates in unit operational activities as delegated by the manager.
- Meets regularly with the Manager and other clinical Coordinators to identify issues and develop resolutions.
- Role models professional behavior, demonstrating flexibility and organization under stress.
- Promotes CMMC’s nursing philosophy and maintains good working relationships within the department and with others.
- Identifies and participates in educational programs for staff.
- Collaborates with the Director, Manager, and Human Resources regarding disciplinary actions.
- Recognizes and addresses unprofessional behaviors, providing appropriate feedback.
- Maintains and respects confidentiality of patient, physician, and personnel information.
- Actively participates in varying team meetings as appropriate.
- Promotes and participates in individual and team development.
- Identifies capital equipment needs.
- Provides input into the development and management of unit-specific budgets.
- Identifies cost containment areas and helps establish strategies to reduce costs.
