Working under the direction of the Assistant Director of Clinical Services, you'll help coordinate daily nursing operations, guide staff, promote quality and safety, and ensure patients receive consistent, individualized care. This opportunity allows you to remain closely connected to patients while helping strengthen the nursing practice and overall experience across the Cancer Center.

  • Developing and adjusting nursing schedules and assignments based on patient volume, physician needs, clinical demands, and available resources
  • Serving as a clinical resource to Cancer Center nurses by providing guidance, promoting teamwork, and supporting consistent application of standards, protocols, and plans of care
  • Evaluating the quality of nursing care through patient assessments, review of care plans and protocols, staff observation, and identification of opportunities for improvement
  • Partnering with the Assistant Director of Clinical Services and Nursing Education and Research to identify individual and team learning needs and support continued nursing development
  • Leading and supporting Nursing Quality Improvement activities by reviewing patient outcomes, occurrence reports, incident trends, and other quality indicators
  • Helping develop and implement changes in clinical practice, workflows, policies, and procedures to improve patient care, safety, efficiency, and the overall Cancer Center experience
  • Monitoring the clinical environment, equipment, and supplies to maintain a safe, therapeutic, and well-supported setting for patients, staff, and visitors
  • Supporting compliance with organizational policies and applicable regulatory requirements while ensuring required documentation is completed accurately and timely
  • Promoting positive relationships among patients, families, physicians, employees, and visitors while responding promptly to concerns and identifying opportunities to improve service
  • Supporting staff engagement, development, performance, and retention while fostering a collaborative and cohesive oncology nursing team
This role might be for you if:
  • You are an experienced oncology nurse who enjoys combining direct patient care with clinical leadership responsibilities
  • You want to remain actively involved with patients while also supporting, mentoring, and coordinating the work of other nurses
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills allow you to manage staffing, patient needs, physician demands, and multiple competing priorities
  • You have the clinical confidence to evaluate nursing care, identify opportunities for improvement, and help implement meaningful changes in practice
  • You communicate effectively and build strong working relationships with patients, families, physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary partners
  • You enjoy developing cohesive nursing teams and creating an environment where collaboration and accountability support excellent patient outcomes
  • You are comfortable using quality data, patient outcomes, feedback, and clinical trends to strengthen nursing practice and Cancer Center operations
  • You value continuous quality improvement, regulatory compliance, patient safety, and evidence-based nursing practice
  • You bring compassion, professionalism, cultural awareness, and a patient-centered perspective to both clinical care and nursing leadership
