Job Summary:

Coordinates clinical education and/or labs for sonography program students to ensure a smooth and efficient learning experience which also includes development of clinical rotation schedules, required competencies, regulatory requirements, and other related program requirements. Support the program director with providing an effective clinical education program via policies, procedures, and student progression.

Job Duties:

  • Correlates and coordinates clinical education processes by way of rotation and education evaluations.
  • Oversee the clinical education process by assuring that policies are being followed by student and supervising technologists.
  • Develop student objectives and evaluation tools for clinical education.
  • Responsible for schedule of student clinical assignments to match established JRDMS guidelines.
  • Maintain student clinical assignments and attendance.
  • Cooperate with the Program Director in periodic review and revision of clinical course material.
  • Maintain current knowledge of program policies, procedures, and student progress.
  • Collaborate with the program director on analyzing outcomes.
  • Preparation for program accreditation and assisting during site visit.
  • Serve as member of the student selection committee.
  • Review program policies and procedures with newly hired technical staff.
  • Assist in curriculum design, development, revision and implementation.
  • Instruct specific courses and lab courses as necessary.
  • Maintains clinical expertise through direct experience, continuing education and a competency assessment.
  • Collaborates closely with clinical site leadership to coordinate student activities; provide training and education to clinical preceptors.
