Qualifications

• Two to Four years of hospital coding experience.
• CCS-P and CPC credentials are not required for inpatient coding but are recognized for coding other areas.
• Strong understanding of ICD/CPT guidelines and coding standards.

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient, observation, same-day surgery, and interventional procedure records for correct principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures.
• Assign codes based on documentation to ensure accurate DRG/APC and billing data.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards, participate in corporate coding programs, and communicate coding changes clearly.
