Job summary

EngageMED, Inc. seeks a Medical Coder to abstract and code patient records per organization guidelines. You will review records to assign accurate diagnoses and MS-DRGs/APCs, ensuring compliant coding for billing and payment submission.

Must have ICD-10-CM/CPT-4 coding knowledge and strong attention to detail. The role requires collaboration with clinic staff; some travel to assigned clinics may be needed. A high school diploma is required, with an associate degree and coding certifications

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Completion of ICD-10 or CPT coding course required.
• AHIMA or AAPC certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately abstract information from medical records into coding systems.
• Determine the most appropriate diagnosis after review of records.
• Code with ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 rules and guidelines.
• Assign MS-DRG/APC and ensure compliant coding for billing.
• Enter and validate charges; verify diagnoses with documentation.
