Job summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to perform moderate and high complexity testing to support patient diagnosis and treatment.

You will analyze results, review quality control data, and ensure specimen integrity through careful handling and processing. The role requires you to handle specimens, maintain accurate labeling and identification, and troubleshoot test systems while coordinating with supply needs.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or military training in medical laboratory work.
• ASCP MLT or NCA CLS certification preferred.
• Experience with moderate to high complexity testing is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate and high complexity testing for patient diagnosis.
• Analyze, review, and report test results and quality control data.
• Maintain specimen integrity through proper handling and processing.
• Handle and transport specimens and ensure proper identification.
• Troubleshoot test systems and communicate supply needs.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and documentation.

Education

Associate’s degree in Laboratory or Medical Laboratory Technology

Military training as Medical Laboratory Specialist (50 weeks)

ASCP MLT or NCA CLS certification (preferred)
