The Chemistry Laboratory at MD Anderson Cancer Center provides comprehensive clinical laboratory testing that supports the diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing monitoring of patients with cancer and other complex medical conditions. In this role, you will perform clinical chemistry testing while ensuring compliance with established laboratory policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. Responsibilities include analyzing patient specimens, evaluating and verifying test results, monitoring quality control data, troubleshooting and maintaining laboratory instrumentation, managing laboratory inventory, and accurately documenting testing information within laboratory information systems. Your technical expertise and attention to detail will help ensure the highest levels of accuracy, reliability, and patient safety.

You will also contribute to laboratory quality, innovation, and continuous improvement by participating in process improvement initiatives, validating new methodologies, laboratory information system updates, and testing platforms, while helping optimize laboratory workflows and operational efficiency. In addition, you will support the education and development of students, new employees, and fellows through training and mentoring, fostering a collaborative environment focused on professional growth and excellence.

Required:

Associate's Degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology OR
Bachelor's Degree in a related science field or Molecular Genetic Technology OR
Successful completion of a National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS) accredited Clinical Laboratory Science/Molecular Genetic Technology accredited program

Required Experience:

2 years of clinical laboratory experience with an Associate's Degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology
1 year of clinical laboratory experience with a Bachelor's Degree in a related science field
No experience required with completion of a NAACLS-accredited Clinical Laboratory Science/Molecular Genetic Technology accredited program
