Job summary

The University of Illinois Chicago seeks an Open Rank Faculty member to serve as Assistant Director of Transfusion Medicine in the Department of Pathology. This is a full-time academic appointment combining clinical leadership, education, and translational research.

The successful candidate will lead transfusion medicine services, participate in medical education and research, and collaborate across UI Health.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree and board certification/eligibility in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in Illinois.
• Fellowship training in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine.
• Strong communication and clinical service commitment.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic services for Transfusion Medicine.
• Lead transfusion medicine services and participate in on-call coverage.
• Educate medical students, residents, fellows, and staff.
• Establish and maintain translational research programs.
