Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a hospital chaplain to provide spiritual care to patients, families, and staff across multiple campuses in the Carolinas region. You will respond to referrals from clinical nursing areas, support diverse faith backgrounds, and participate in care planning with the health care team.

Required: Master’s of Divinity (MDiv) or equivalent per ACPE; completion of at least one unit of CPE preferred.

Qualifications

• MDiv required or equivalent per ACPE standards.
• ACPE supervision and annual reports expected.
• Experience in clinical pastoral settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides daily spiritual care to patients, families, and teammates.
• Responds to referrals from clinical nursing areas and follows up.
• Supports diverse faith backgrounds without proselytizing.
• Facilitates care plans with the health care team and chaplaincy groups.
• Maintains spiritual care statistics and charting for interactions.
• Maintains endorsed denomination relationships and reports activities.
• Maintains supervisory meetings with CPE Supervisor and reports progress.
• Participates in team meetings as part of care delivery in nursing areas.
• Complies with Clinical Pastoral Education standards and guidelines.
• Attends peer groups and educational sessions as required.
