Job summary

Novant Health seeks a PRN chaplain to provide spiritual care in a fast-paced hospital setting, triaging needs, responding to consults, and supporting the care team with compassionate, patient-centered care.

Role requires a Graduate Degree (Master's of Divinity or equivalent) and endorsement; minimum two years of healthcare spiritual care experience; certification eligibility with board certification within three years of hire. Must live within 30 minutes of Triad Region facilities.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree required; Master’s of Divinity or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years spiritual care experience in healthcare.
• Eligible for APC, CPSP certification; board certification within 3 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver spiritual care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Collaborate with the chaplain team; use spiritual assessments to guide care.
• Offer prayer, sacraments, and rituals as requested.
• Provide emotional and spiritual support in person or via phone/video.
• Document interactions in the electronic medical record.
• Support end-of-life needs and grief support.
• Engage with hospital initiatives and community education.
