Job summary

Mosaic Life Care is seeking a CDI professional to evaluate and improve clinical documentation for accuracy and appropriate coding. You will review cases, query providers, and ensure DRG accuracy, working across acute care admissions.

The role emphasizes collaboration with the healthcare team, ongoing education, and meeting productivity targets. An ADN is required, with a BSN preferred, and CCDS eligibility within two years.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of clinical experience in an ICU/Critical Care setting are required.
• CCDS certification is required within 2 years of hire or eligible for CCDS designation.

Responsibilities

• Conducts basic to intermediate CDI reviews and re-reviews of admissions.
• Abstracts data from charts and systems using Official Coding Guidelines and Official Query Guidelines.
• Assigns and updates ICD-10-CM/PCS codes and DRG baselines.
• Identifies documentation gaps and communicates with providers to capture accurate documentation.
• Completes second level reviews including mortality and quality reviews.
• Participates in staff training and quality improvement activities.
• Maintains professional development through webinars and online education.
• Meets CDI quality and productivity goals.

Skills

ICU/CCU experience

CCDS certification within 2 years

Education

Associate's Degree - Nursing

Bachelor's Degree - Nursing (preferred)
