Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking a Clinical Care Technician to support adult medical/surgical units, including ICU and emergency care. The role involves 1:1 care for at-risk patients and tele-sitter monitoring, with responsibilities spanning patient intake, safety, and basic clinical tasks.

The position emphasizes teamwork, adaptability, and patient-centered care, under supervision of professional nurses and physicians. A strong primary care support background and BLS certification are preferred assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Certifications relevant to the department may be required.
• Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medical Assistant (MA).
• Preferred: Completion of Nursing Fundamentals in an accredited nursing program.
• Preferred: One year of related experience as a Nursing Assistant, PCA, CCT, or PCT.
• Preferred: Acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists the professional registered nurse in the functional care of patients, ensuring efficient and patient-centered care.
• Provides or assists patients with activities of daily living in a safe, efficient and respectful manner.
• Greets patients, families, visitors and other staff according to service standards and responds to requests promptly.
• Collects, records, and communicates the patient’s clinical data to the assigned nurse in a timely manner.
• Prepares room for admission/transfer/discharge with standardized equipment ready for use.
• Transports or accompanies patients to other areas and acts as a sitter when requested by the nurse.
