Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking Certified Clinical Technicians to join the Adult Medical/Surgical Float Pool. This role delivers nursing support under RN supervision, helping on a variety of units including ICU and ER, with 1:1 care for at-risk patients and virtual monitoring in tele-sitter settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification required.
• Certifications relevant to the department may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the professional registered nurse in patient care and communicate findings to the nurse.
• Assist with activities of daily living and ensure patient safety and dignity.
• Greet patients and families, respond to requests, and seek nurse supervision as needed.
• Record and communicate patient data to the nurse promptly.
• Prepare rooms for admissions, transfers, and discharges; ensure equipment is ready.
• Transport patients as needed and support sitter guidelines for safety.
• Provide comfort measures and assist with mobility and ROM exercises.
• Set up procedures as requested and maintain cleanliness of equipment.
• Collect specimens and assist with lab preparation; follow standard precautions.
• Maintain biomedical equipment and report malfunctions to Medical Engineering.
• Assist with wound care, EKGs, monitoring, and patient belongings handling.
• Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge tasks; respond to call lights.
