Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health in Elizabeth, NJ seeks a Clinical Care Technician (CCT) for the Nursing Float Pool. You will assist with vital signs, mobility, daily living activities, and support Registered Nurses in delivering hands-on patient care in a fast-paced setting.

This full-time, hourly role requires Evening shifts (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM) with every other weekend and some holidays. You will document in the EHR, follow infection control protocols, and provide compassionate care while collaborating

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and current BLS certification are required.
• Nursing assistant experience or clinical experience from an accredited program is preferred.
• CNA certificate is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, and assist with bedside care (bathing, mouth care, skin care).
• Monitor vital signs (BP, pulse, respiration, temperature) and track patient status.
• Document patient information in the EHR with confidentiality.
• Apply infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment.
• Communicate with patients, families, and providers to coordinate care plans.
• Provide BLS/CPR in emergencies when needed.
• Deliver age-appropriate patient care based on guidelines.
• Support safe patient outcomes through judgment and action.
• Maintain ongoing communication with patients and nursing colleagues.
• Participate in care-plan collaboration from admission to discharge.

You'll assist with daily needs such as vital signs, mobility, and personal care, while helping RNs monitor conditions and carry out care plans. Your attention, empathy, and teamwork help restore comfort and dignity for every patient you serve and make our mission to improve lives a reality each day.

As a Clinical Care Technician (CCT), a typical day may include:

• Assisting patients with activities of daily living and providing nursing care to patients including taking vital signs, EKGS, performing phlebotomy, assisting with bedside care, i.e. bathing, mouth care, skin care.
• Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to track patient health status
• Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems while maintaining strict confidentiality
• Implement infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to facility policies
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to coordinate care plans and address concerns
• Support emergency response efforts by applying Basic Life Support (BLS) skills such as CPR when needed in acute situations
• Providing patient care, based on physical, education, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients
• Providing for effective and safe patient outcomes through practice, judgment and critical actions
• Ongoing communication with patients and nursing colleagues regarding status of patient’s care
• Participating in collaboration of our patient’s plan of care from admission to discharge to ensure safe transitioning

To be considered for this CCT opportunity, you must have a High School Diploma / GED and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. Previous nursing assistant experience or clinical experience from an accredited nursing program is preferred or a CNA certificate. This position offers a Full-Time Evening schedule from 3:00AM - 11:30PM and includes every other weekend as well as some holidays.
