Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; BLS certification required.
• Certifications relevant to nursing support may be required.
• Completion of Nursing Fundamentals in an accredited program preferred.
• Experience in acute care settings is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist professional registered nurse in patient care, ensuring safety and dignity.
• Provide activities of daily living support and environment setup.
• Greet patients and families, respond to requests, and relay information to nurses.
• Collect, record, and communicate clinical data to the nurse in a timely manner.
• Prepare rooms for admission/transfer/discharge and maintain equipment readiness.
• Transport patients and provide sitter services as directed by the nurse.
• Assist with mobility, positioning, and patient comfort measures.
• Set up equipment for procedures and maintain standard precautions.
• Prepare specimens for lab and perform basic specimen handling.
• Maintain biomedical equipment and report malfunctions to engineering.
• Assist with wound care and apply dressings as directed.
• Perform 12-lead EKG and connect monitoring equipment as instructed.
• Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge tasks and document accordingly.
• Respond to call lights and conduct hourly rounds per guidelines.
