Job summary

Pain Specialists of America in Austin is seeking a Clinical Navigator to coordinate all aspects of a patient’s care and ensure a superior experience. RN license preferred; BLS required; 2+ years in healthcare; Smartsheet proficiency; willingness to travel to Austin-area clinics; organized and detail-oriented.

The role involves scheduling, pre-op and post-op coordination, and communication with surgeons, facilities, and hospitals to meet medical necessity and patient needs.

Qualifications

• RN license preferred
• BLS certification required or obtained after hire
• 2+ years in healthcare setting
• Willingness to travel to Austin clinics
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Develops a bond with patients ensuring they feel welcomed and understood during consultations and the day of surgery.
• Provides a great patient experience while achieving company-set conversion metrics.
• Delivers high customer satisfaction, remaining friendly and helpful.
• Educates and assists patients in selecting services.
• Reviews patient medical history and medications to determine if additional appointments or clearances are needed.
• Arranges for pre-op testing.
• Sends surgery requests with CPT codes to the authorization department.
• Confirms that medical necessity is met.
• Tends to phone calls and resolves patient requests and issues.
• Schedules patients for surgery, in person or by phone.
• Communicates with surgeon and facility personnel for scheduling.
• Coordinates pre-op and post-op appointments.
• Communicates with hospitals for pre-operative requirements.
• Communicates with vendors to ensure continuity of care for surgical cases.
• Acts as liaison between clinic, surgery center, and physician.
• Other duties as assigned.
