Boston Children's Hospital is seeking staff for the Waltham Pediatric Inpatient Unit. The unit handles short-stay surgical patients with typical stays between 24 and 72 hours.

Located at 9 Hope Avenue, Waltham, MA, the role operates with shifts from 7:00 AM–3:00 PM and 3:00 PM–11:00 PM to support patient flow and care coordination. Responsibilities include scheduling, registering, collecting information, supporting clinicians, and data entry within established procedures.

Competenze

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of direct patient care experience preferred.

• Schedule, register, and coordinate patients, visitors and staff for appointments or procedures.
• Collect, verify, and record required information.
• Identify and report changes in patient condition to the RN.
• Obtain records and results and enter data into computer systems.
• Answer, screen, and route telephone calls; provide general office support.

Department Summary:

The Waltham Pediatric Inpatient Unit is an 11 bed Surgical Unit, with a typical length of stay of 24 to 72 hours.

Key responsibilities:

• Scheduling, receiving and/or registering patients, visitors and staff for appointments or procedures.
• Collecting, verifying and recording required information according to established procedures and instructions.
• Identifying and reporting unusual findings or changes in patient condition to Registered Nurse.
• Obtaining records, files and/or results for appointments and entering related information on appropriate computer systems.
• Answering, screening and routing telephone calls and performing general office support tasks.
• Assisting clinician during examinations (i.e. obtaining, measuring and recording routine information such as temperature and blood pressure, and performing other related duties according to specific needs of clinic).
• Transporting patients, supplies and equipment as needed.
• Location: 9 Hope Avenue, Waltham, MA, hours are 7a-3p and 3p-11p.

Minimum qualifications:

Education:

• HS Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

• 1+ years of direct patient care experience preferred.
