Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant certificate program.
• Completion of a Medical Scribe training program if required by the department.
• 3+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant.

Responsabilités

• Serves as a liaison between physicians, patients, families, healthcare providers, nursing homes, homecare providers, patient employers and insurance companies to ensure quality patient care for patients seen in the campus and offsite satellite offices.
• Coordinates the daily activities of the physician team staff to ensure an effective and efficient daily operations flow.
• Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned including patient flow, assisting in exams or procedures, taking vital signs and relaying instructions.
• Fulfills clerical responsibilities such as handling medical records, lab/x-ray reports and requisitions using EMR systems.
• Enters orders into the EMR or prepares prescription refill requests for physician review and approval.
• May perform medical scribe functions as directed by the supervising physician.
• Inventories, orders or restocks medical supplies and ensures proper sterilization.
• Maintains examination room setup and logging for medication refrigeration and other required processes.
• May assist with appointment scheduling or booking surgeries/procedures and support pre-admissions.
• Provides training and mentoring to Level I MA staff.
