Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma/GED and completion of a Medical Assistant certificate.
• Must complete Medical Scribe training if required by department.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• BCLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between physicians, patients, families, healthcare providers, nursing homes, homecare providers, patient employers and insurance companies to ensure quality patient care.
• Coordinate daily activities of the physician team staff for efficient operations.
• Assist with patient care tasks: vitals, escort to exam room, assist procedures, phlebotomy as needed.
• Handle clerical duties: medical records, lab/x-ray reports, forms, EMR data entry and filing.
• Enter orders into the EMR system and process prescription refills for physician review.
• May perform medical scribe duties as directed by the supervising physician.
• Inventory and restock medical supplies; prepare exam rooms per infection control policies.
• Provide training and mentoring to Level I MA staff.
