Job summary

SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, NY seeks a Clinical Assistant Professor (HS) to support the General Surgery Program and advance clinical teaching. The role involves on-site patient care, program development, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include call coverage, leading rounds and meetings, and contributing to quality standards and research. Applicants must hold NY medical license or be eligible, MD, completed general surgery fellowship,

Qualifications

• New York State Medical License or eligibility.
• MD from an accredited College of Medicine.
• Completion of a general surgery fellowship.
• DEA license.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development, quality and growth of the General Surgery Program.
• Provide call coverage for an average of 7-days per month, including one weekend.
• Provide onsite surgical attending care for all general surgery inpatients and outpatients.
• Establish and promote structures and processes to enhance patient care.
• Assist with outreach strategies and multidisciplinary team building efforts.
• Assist with the development of quality standards and evaluation of procedural outcomes.
