SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn seeks a General Anesthesiologist to join the Department of Anesthesiology as Clinical Assistant Professor (HS). The role includes clinical duties across main OR, ambulatory surgery center, and obstetrical suite with a strong emphasis on teaching residents and medical students.

Qualifications

New York State Medical License.
Completion of an ACGME-accredited anesthesiology residency program.
American Board of Anesthesiology Certification.

Responsibilities

Administer anesthesia in the main operating room, ambulatory surgery center, and obstetrical suite using general, regional, and sedation techniques.
Provide anesthesia care for a broad range of cases including general surgery, orthopedics, vascular, robotics, and renal transplant.
Supervise residents in a 2-OR care team model during daytime clinical assignments.
Participate in obstetric anesthesia coverage with resident support; low-volume OB service (approximately 400–500 deliveries annually).
Teach and supervise residents and medical students; mentor trainees in research and scholarly activities.
