SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, NY seeks a Pediatric Surgeon / Clinical Associate Professor (HS) to lead and grow the pediatric surgery program. The role includes on-call coverage (~7 days/month, including one weekend), multidisciplinary rounds, and supervision of residents and students in a busy academic center.

Requirements include MD from an accredited medical college, NY licensure or eligibility, completion of general surgery and pediatric surgery fellowship, and board

Qualifications

• MD degree from an accredited College of Medicine.
• New York State medical licensure or eligibility.
• Completion of an accredited general surgery program.
• Completion of an accredited pediatric surgery fellowship program.
• Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pediatric Surgery.
• Current DEA.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development, quality and growth of the pediatric surgery program.
• Provide on-call coverage for an average of 7 days per month, including one weekend.
• Provide comprehensive onsite surgical attending care for all pediatric surgery inpatients and outpatients.
• Lead daily multidisciplinary rounds and pediatric surgery clinic meetings.
• Supervise surgical residents, medical students and other trainees.
