Qualifications

The Occupational Therapy Program in the School of Health Sciences at the University of New Haven invites applications for a full-time appointment for the Clinical Assistant Professor & Capstone Coordinator in the entry-level Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) Program. This is a 12-month, non tenure track faculty position. The successful applicant will join an innovative faculty team. This position is to be filled for May 2025.

The School of Health Sciences offers a vibrant and diverse environment for teaching and research with a focus on inter-professional education. The School of Health Sciences has strong relationships with multiple health systems and public health entities in the greater New England region that provide ample opportunities for research, community partnerships, and other collaborations. The School of Health Sciences offers degrees at the bachelors, masters, and doctoral levels.

You will:

Primary responsibilities include coordination of the capstone experience. Additional duties include course development and teaching, program evaluation, student advisement and supervision, and other duties as assigned. The capstone coordinator will have support for release time necessary to meet management and administration needs of the capstone program.

You need:

Minimum Qualifications:
• Doctoral degree (OTD, PhD, EdD, DHS, DHSc, etc.) is required.
• Connecticut licensure as an occupational therapist (or eligibility for CT licensure)
• Minimum of 5 years full time of documented experience as an occupational therapist (or equivalent part time)
• Evidence of engagement in scholarly work through presentations and publications
• Strong interpersonal skills.
Preferred qualifications include:
• A pediatric clinical practice or research background is strongly preferred.
• Previous academic appointment in an occupational therapy program.
