Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a Clinical Assistant to support the Outpatient Psychiatry Department. The role involves assisting clinicians during exams, taking vital signs, and managing patient flow for daily appointments.

Department Summary:

Clinical Assistant for our Outpatient Psychiatry Department.

Key responsibilities:

• Assisting clinician during examinations; obtaining, measuring and recording routine information such as temperature and blood pressure, weights, heights and lengths.
• Scheduling, receiving and/or registering patients, visitors and staff for appointments or procedures.
• Facilitating patient flow through the clinic.
• Performing other related duties according to specific needs of clinic, including supply inventory, and stocking/organizing exam rooms.
• Identifying and reporting unusual findings or changes in patient condition to Registered Nurse.
• Collecting, verifying and recording required information, obtaining records, files and/or results for appointments and entering related information on appropriate computer systems.
• Answering, screening and routing telephone calls and performing general office support tasks.
• Working Monday - Friday day shifts, varying start and end times between 8am-7pm.

Minimum qualifications:

Education:

• HS Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

• 1 year CA experience, CNA Certification, or one round of clinical rotations preferred
• Pediatric experience preferred.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
