Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital in Brookline, MA, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic. You will support family-centered psychiatric care, collaborate with clinic leadership, and help advance care coordination, treatment planning, and education.

The role is on-site, full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, with responsibilities spanning triage, medication management, prior authorization support, quality improvement, and staff training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• 1 year of RN experience required; psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
• Experience with Epic, including medication refill processes, in-basket management, and use of smart phrases preferred.
• Familiarity with prior authorization platforms such as CoverMyMeds, and the ability to navigate insurance formularies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Managing and triaging patient and caregiver communications, including medication refills, follow-up scheduling, and adverse events.
• Providing psychoeducation to patients and families regarding medications and care plans.
• Serving as a clinical liaison and operational partner to the Medical Director.
• Coordinating and documenting communications with internal and external providers.
• Supporting prior authorization requests and pharmacy interactions.
• Participating in quality improvement initiatives and workflow enhancements.
• Maintaining accurate documentation and promoting clear clinical communication.
• Contributing to staff training and orientation as appropriate.
• On-site work 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM.

Position Summary

Located at 2 Brookline Place, the Outpatient Psychiatry Service provides comprehensive care to children, adolescents, and their families. Our team includes psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, psychologists, social workers, and trainees across disciplines. We are committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based treatment. You will be a valued contributor in a role that integrates clinical support, education, and systems-based practice improvement.

We are seeking an experienced and organized Registered Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team in the Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic at Boston Children's Hospital. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with clinic leadership to support high-quality and family-centered psychiatric care.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing and triaging patient and caregiver communications, including:

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.

Experience:

• 1 year of RN experience required. Prior experience as a psychiatric nurse required.
• Prefer 3 years of psychiatric nursing experience, preferably including pediatric or adolescent mental health.
• Demonstrated experience in clinical leadership, time management, and care coordination.
• Experience with Epic, including medication refill processes, in-basket management, and use of smart phrases preferred.
• Familiarity with prior authorization platforms such as CoverMyMeds, and the ability to navigate insurance formularies preferred.

Licensure/Certifications

• Current Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse (RN)

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
