Job summary

Qualifications

Position Description

Employees in this classification provide patient care management toan assigned clinic in the areas of clerical and clinical duties. Inclinical setting, the employee receives direct supervision fromphysician or nursing supervisor in either oral or written form. Inoffice setting, the employee receives direct supervision fromdepartment administrator. Work is performed under usual office andclinic conditions. May be stressful when working under emergencyconditions. This position must supervised by a RegisteredNurse.

Major/Essential Functions

• Direct patient care, including but not limited to obtainingrecords, chief complaint interventions, performing treatments, andmonitoring vital signs.
• Assisting with patient care plans.
• Educating patients and families.
• Communicating with the health care team.
• Sterilizes/cleans equipment and supplies.

Occasional Duties

Help with administrative duties.

Required Qualifications

Education: A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent. License/Certification: Graduation from an approved certifiedprogram for assistants in the area of required specialty.Certification by an approved accredited certifying agency in thespecialty that particular work will be performed.

Preferred Qualifications

• CMA(Certified Medical Assistant) certification.
• 2 years experience working as a certified medicalassistant.
