Description

The Clinical Assistant functions as part of the clinical care team. The Clinical Assistant will room patients, document care, and provide assistance to the Physician, PA’s, and NP’s as needed.

Essential Functions

• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Ability to apply casts, splints, and fit for DME
• Assist the provider with clinical needs
• Accurately and promptly document care, including completing necessary forms
• Assist with booking patient appointments
• Assist with collecting laboratory specimens and processing them for send-out to the lab
• Triaging medical calls
• Manage patient flow to ensure smooth clinic operations and timeliness
• Draw up injections and perform phlebotomy when needed
• Change dressings, remove sutures, etc.
• Establish effective working relations with staff through good interpersonal skills
• Train new staff members effectively
• Handle and protect patient information in compliance with privacy standards
• Promote customer satisfaction both internally and externally
• Foster a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement
• Adhere to scheduled work times and attendance policies
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education & Qualifications:

• Required: Graduation from an accredited medical assistant, Orthopedic Technician, or related certification program; active NH Medical Assistant, Orthopedic Tech, or Athletic Trainer license/certification; BCLS certification
• Preferred: Associate's degree
