Fallon Health's Summit ElderCare is a Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). PACE helps people 55 and older continue living safely at home, as an alternative to nursing home care. Brief Summary Of Purpose

Performs clinical and administrative duties involving patient care according to standards. Provides assessment and care to PACE participants under supervision of the SE Clinic Supervisor, SE Clinical Manager, and/or SE Provider.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and stocks exam rooms
  • Rooms participants in the SE PACE clinic
  • Assists in examination and treatment under the direction of the SE Provider
  • Records vital signs and assists with clinical procedures
  • Establishes IV access and performs phlebotomy as directed
  • Performs point of care testing, EKG, bladder scan, Doppler
  • Conducts home visits for medical evaluation and treatment
  • Administers medication, wound care, breathing treatments, and procedures as directed

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Completion of EMT-Advanced, CCT program, Medical Assisting Certificate, or 2 years' experience as Medical/Clinical Assistant

License/Certifications:

  • Licensed EMT-Advanced in Massachusetts, or
  • Certified Critical Care Technician, or
  • Proficiency in phlebotomy and medical assisting responsibilities
  • Basic Life Support (BLS-CPR) Healthcare Provider certification

Experience:

  • At least two years' clinical assisting experience in a busy medical practice or similar setting
  • Experience with frail elderly population, knowledge of medical procedures, ability to perform phlebotomy and IV access independently
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment according to standards
