Description

POSITION PURPOSE
Establishes and maintains a consultative partnership with a clinical business area/user client providing operational functional knowledge supporting the development of new/improved capabilities; translating business requirements to functional requirements, and identifying, defining and developing solutions to application and system problems. Serves as a primary contact and resource by representing and interpreting clinical client needs to technical staff and ensuring solutions meet overall business needs and expectations. Possesses the ability to quickly understand the clinical business operations and functional area in order to appropriately evaluate and analyze business workflow and recommend alternative approaches in developing process improvement. Work activities require competency in the clinical application supported. Strong communication and facilitation skills are needed to interface with varied specialized interests and audiences, and solid analytical and problem-solving skills to develop solutions to application/process issues and maximize application capabilities to meet client needs. The role requires a high degree of independence and is viewed as a trusted resource to clinical clients (physicians, nurses, pharmacists, etc.) and team members, often functioning as a “super-user.” Works with enterprise, regional, or local clinical applications deployed across multiple organizations and locations.

Essential Functions

• Interfaces with clinical client/business owners to understand, define, and translate business requirements into functional specifications; acts as a liaison between clients and technical support staff.
• Researches and evaluates workflows, investigates practices, meets with decision makers, and analyzes current issues to develop process improvements and best practices.
• Works with clients to define problems and desired outcomes, developing recommendations and assessing long-term viability of solutions.
• Develops detailed project plans, conducts process flow mapping and gap analysis, assists with implementation, and monitors progress.
• Facilitates meetings, demos, and training sessions using various delivery methods, ensuring smooth application transitions and providing ongoing support.
• Prepares training materials, conducts needs assessments, and evaluates training effectiveness.
• Coordinates and monitors testing, develops test plans, and supports system updates and troubleshooting.
• Maintains clinical application profiles, performs system builds, and ensures data integrity.
• Resolves application issues, interfaces with technical staff or vendors, and manages customer relationships.
• Adheres to Trinity Health's mission, values, and compliance standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned, with compensation within the specified pay grade.

  Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare or IT, with 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Windows applications, experience with instructional design tools and data structures preferred.
  • Experience supporting clinical software applications and interfaces, understanding of system integration.
  • Prior super-user experience, project management skills, and ability to interpret clinical regulations.
  • Strong analytical, technical, problem-solving, and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and in teams.

  Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Office environment, requiring communication, manual dexterity, concentration, and ability to travel.
  • May require 24/7 on-call support.
