Job Objective:

Supports the core functions of EMC clinical applications to enable cost-effective, high quality, efficient, and safe patient care. This position will implement, administer, and support assigned clinical systems under the guidance of the Information Systems Management team. It requires a thorough understanding of assigned applications, ancillary systems, and health system operations. Responsibilities include addressing issues, designing solutions, managing software upgrades and maintenance, serving as Project Manager for major projects, and coordinating support with other IT teams. The role involves implementing changes, providing solutions to work orders, trouble tickets, and projects for assigned departments.

Job Description:

Education: Required: Relevant degree or experience in lieu of degree. Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree.

Licensure/Certification: Certification(s) required for those supporting an Epic application.

Experience: Required: Two (2) years in healthcare-related positions.

Supervises: N/A

Blood Borne Pathogens: Minimal/No Potential

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

  • Ability to maintain positive relations with peers, users, and vendors.
  • Ability to teach/train staff.
  • Knowledge of PMO methodology and tools.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with the assigned applications (Epic Certification if applicable).
  • Experience in an acute healthcare or vendor setting.
  • Facilitation, organization, and team-building skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, internet browsers, and email.
  • Senior-level system analyst experience.
  • Proven project management experience.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare applications.
Essential Responsibilities
  1. Ensure compliance with Code of Conduct and policies; report violations.
  2. Act as liaison between departments, end users, and IT staff.
  3. Maintain current systems, troubleshoot, and document issues for vendor resolution.
  4. Support departments during and after system implementations.
  5. Provide support during clinical system upgrades.
  6. Analyze systems and processes for improvements in patient care, productivity, and cost savings.
  7. Assist in planning for future product acquisitions.
  8. Report project status regularly.
  9. Facilitate communication between users, IT staff, and vendors to resolve issues and implement modifications.
  10. Analyze programming change requests and facilitate communication.
  11. Coordinate with vendors on system changes.
  12. Provide technical support to users.
  13. Follow PMO guidelines on projects and utilize PMO tools.
  14. Train staff on PMO tools and methodologies.
  15. Share knowledge on healthcare informatics and regulatory requirements.
  16. Ensure proper documentation of procedures and processes.
  17. Update service requests monthly and communicate updates.
  18. Manage communication about unavailability during absences.
  19. Support management with administrative tasks as needed.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned.
