RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for the RWJUH Hamilton Hospital in New Jersey. This role supports the Outpatient Infusion department, coordinating nurse station activities, assisting providers, and delivering direct patient care under nurse supervision.

The position emphasizes a blend of clinical and administrative tasks in a fast-paced hospital setting, with emphasis on teamwork, patient communication, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Per Diem, day shift schedule.
• Education: High school graduate or equivalent standard.
• Certifications: Current American Heart Association BCLS required; Nurse’s Aide preferred.
• Technical Skills: Epic system training required.
• Communication: English; Spanish bilingual preferred to support diverse patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Manage reception and clerical operations at the nurse's station, greet visitors, and route communications.
• Transcribe and enter medical orders and charges into the system.
• Prepare and maintain patient charts and file diagnostic results.
• Provide direct patient care under nurse supervision.
• Obtain and report vital signs to nursing staff and round to improve outcomes.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and other procedures within scope.
