Job summary

The University of Miami UHealth Department of Physical Therapy at SoLé Mia is seeking a full-time Clinic Assistant to support patient care unit operations. The role includes clerical duties such as filing, scheduling lab work, phoning prescriptions, and communicating with staff to ensure smooth daily operations.

Core functions include chart preparation, transcription, supplies management, and coordination with therapists.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certification: BLS.
• Some clinical experience or exercise instruction experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, complete, and process patient charts and maintain accurate records.
• Transcribe doctors’ orders and ensure histories and summaries are complete.
• Order and stock unit supplies and maintain inventory.
• Assist with receiving, distributing, and sorting supplies; prepare treatment areas.
• Obtain lab and x-ray reports and notify doctors of results.
• Greet patients, verify information, and direct to appropriate areas.
• Document equipment issues and report to management.
• Respond to inquiries from visitors and take follow-up calls.
