Job summary

MercyOne Centerville Medical Clinic is seeking a Clinic RN to provide outpatient patient care, coordinate with the care team, educate patients, and ensure safe, evidence-based nursing practices. The role emphasizes collaboration with physicians and ongoing participation in quality improvements.

Applicants must hold an Iowa RN license, BLS within 3 months of hire, and complete mandatory abuse training within 3 months. Strong communication and computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Iowa; compact license acceptable where applicable.
• BLS certification within 3 months of hire.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training within 3 months of hire.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (Windows, email, MS Office).
• Ability to read, write and understand English and communicate with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient patient care and coordinate care with clinical staff.
• Administer medications and treatments safely via multiple routes and document accordingly.
• Maintain and document accuracy in the EMR (assessments, vitals, treatments, education).
• Educate patients and families on treatments, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams; participate in meetings and quality improvement activities.
• Support scheduling, admissions, referrals, and outpatient procedures.
• Maintain supplies, equipment, and a clean, safe clinical environment.
