Job summary

Mass General Brigham is hiring a Clinic/Practice Assistant for the Joint Center at 2000 Washington Street, Newton. This on-site role runs Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m., delivering a smooth, high-quality patient experience.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3–5 years of office experience required.
  • Strong technology skills including Microsoft Office and advanced proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of office operations, standards and procedures, including filing, copying, scanning, printing and faxing.
  • Strong communication skills, including ability to write clearly, take accurate messages, and interact professionally with patients and colleagues.
  • Excellent organization and time management, with ability to manage multiple tasks and follow established protocols.
  • Ability to use phone systems, manage non-routine calls, and resolve routine issues appropriately.
  • Careful attention to detail, including proofreading and editing written documents.

Job Summary

We are hiring a full-time Clinic/Practice Assistant to join the Joint Center team at our 2000 Washington Street location in Newton. This on-site role offers a consistent Monday–Friday schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and the opportunity to play an important part in delivering a smooth, high-quality patient experience.

About the Role

As a Clinic/Practice Assistant, you will support both administrative and clinical operations for the practice. You will help coordinate patient visits, manage scheduling and check-in/check-out processes, support documentation needs, and serve as a key resource for patients, providers, and practice staff.

What You’ll Do
  • Schedule patient appointments, maintain appointment records, and support check-in and check-out activities.
  • Assist patients and callers with routine inquiries, messages, and scheduling needs.
  • Process patient billing forms, scan documents, and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Support prior authorizations, prescription refill requests, provider questions, and test result communications as appropriate.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for scheduling, registration, and billing systems.
  • Provide guidance and support to Office and Practice Assistants, including assistance and training in key systems and processes.
  • Assist with more complex practice functions, which may include surgical scheduling, schedule changes, or blocking.
  • Work closely with the Supervisor to help oversee daily practice activities and maintain efficient operations.
Qualifications

What We’re Looking For High School Diploma or equivalent required. Three to five years of office experience required. Strong technology skills, including Microsoft Office and advanced proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of office operations, standards, and procedures, including filing, copying, scanning, printing, and faxing. Strong communication skills, including the ability to write clearly, take accurate messages, and interact professionally with patients and colleagues. Excellent organization and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and follow established protocols. Ability to use phone systems, manage non-routine calls, and resolve routine issues appropriately. Careful attention to detail, including proofreading and editing written documents.
