Job summary

Qualifications

• On the job training with MA or CNA certification preferred.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and/or specimen collection such as: capillary collection; arterial puncture; and aseptic blood culture collection
• Perform POCT testing in the clinic and be available by ascom phone to complete draws in Specialty areas as needed
• Prioritize patient care responsibilities and give rationale for clinical decisions
• Communicate patient information to physician, nurse, or other health care professionals
• Demonstrate ability to adapt to emergency situations
• Transport all specimens to lab department
• Stock rooms and check outdates
• Serves as backup to the courier making trips to outreach clinics and other hospitals as needed
• Other duties as assigned may perform some tasks to assist other hospital departments
