Qualifications

• High School/GED required.
• Three years supervisory experience in a medical practice.
• Ability to work with all patient types in a busy practice.
• Computer skills: Microsoft Office, Internet, and practice mgmt software.
• Good written and verbal communication skills required.
• Requires reasoning ability, good independent judgment and organizational skills.
• Must project a professional image and handle interruptions.
• Bilingual – English/Spanish – preferred.
• Position requires travel, valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
• Some evening and weekend work will be required.
• Three years experience in a physician office is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal and cultural sensitivity skills.
• Organizational skills are necessary.
• Previous EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor scheduling of patients to ensure smooth workflow with physicians/providers daily.
• Greet patients and visitors and provide excellent customer service.
• Respect privacy and dignity of patients and ensure confidentiality.
• Oversee office staff and back-up for the office manager as needed.
• Maintain staff work schedules for appropriate coverage.
• Schedule and manage patient appointments and reschedules.
• Edit payroll and submit time to payroll department.
• Coordinate with IT on equipment issues and updates.
• Update and educate staff on changes in billing, OSHA, HIPAA and related topics.
• Assist in hiring and disciplinary actions.
