Job summary

STGi seeks qualified candidates for the Medical Support Assistant role in connection with an active RFP. The position supports the Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) with clerical and administrative duties and patient data management.

Essential functions include scheduling, records maintenance, patient check-in, clinic flow coordination, and coordination with the VAMC. The role emphasizes customer service and confidentiality in a healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Manages patient schedules and treatment in the Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC).
• Maintains electronic logs and files for consult/appointment processes.
• Greets patients and checks them in, updating records as needed.
• Coordinates patient schedules and clinic flow to ensure efficiency.
• Performs clerical tasks to maintain patient data accuracy.
• Schedules new and established patient appointments.
• Tracks and facilitates completion of encounters and consults.
• Participates in PACT team huddles and meetings to plan patient care.
• Monitors pre-appointment requirements (e.g., X-ray, labs) for readiness.
• Maintains CBOC wait list, verifies accuracy and resolves issues.
• Performs administrative follow-up actions and liaison duties with VAMC.
• Supports continuity of care by sharing information with the medical team.
