Job Summary

Assist practitioners in performing procedures, managing telephone prescription orders/refills, maintaining patient records, and relaying test results.

Department Description

The Samaritan Family Medicine Residency Clinic (SFMRC) provides comprehensive healthcare for patients and families across all ages, from newborns to seniors. The clinic emphasizes building enduring, continuity-focused relationships to promote better health. It features board-certified family medicine physicians and resident physicians at various postgraduate stages. Services include acute/same-day care, chronic disease management, preventative care, women’s health, pediatric care, office-based procedures, and pre/post-natal care, aligning with ACGME competencies.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Registered or Certified Medical Assistant required.
  • Healthcare Provider BLS certification required.
  • Previous medical back-office experience or completion of a Medical Assistant/Certified Medical Assistant program preferred.
  • Experience in applicable specialty areas and lab/EKG experience preferred.

  • Patient Care: Ability to assist and care for patients, recognizing symptoms, drug interactions, and preventive measures within scope of practice.
  • Adaptability/Flexibility: Respond quickly and appropriately to diverse patient needs and situations.

  • Team Building: Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and develop cooperative relationships.

  • Social Perceptiveness: Sensitivity to the needs of a diverse patient population, understanding age-related differences, and maintaining a non-judgmental attitude.
Physical Demands
