Job summary

The University of Toledo’s Clinic at HSC is seeking a Clinic Manager 2 to oversee daily operations of a high-volume clinic, coordinate patient care with other clinics, and ensure staff competence.

You will hire and train support and management staff, manage budgets, and drive continuous improvement while meeting accreditation standards and optimizing resources.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree required; BA/BS degree preferred.
• Five plus years of supervisory experience may substitute for higher education.
• Two prior supervisory roles required.
• Experience with budgeting required.
• Ability to communicate clearly with patients, visitors, students, residents, physicians and staff.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with personnel and medical staff.
• Completes orientation within 90 days.
• Self-directed with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to work with multiple teams.
• Experience with accreditation, including Joint Commission.

Job Description:

In coordination with the Clinic Medical Director(s), plans and manages the daily operations of a single clinic with a total of20,000 annual patient visits or more or multiple clinics with20,000 visits or more. Responsibilities include leading and organizing the continuous improvement of patient care services; developing, supervising and ensuring the competence of clinic staff; ensuring compliance with accreditation standards; managing the clinic budget and efficiently using resources; and providing direct patient care and coordinating the care of patients with other clinics and ancillary services. Responsible for hiring and training support staff, including management staff.

Levels of care range from basic first aid/treatment to assessment of patients, planning care, and evaluating the effectiveness of treatment measures. Ages of patients served spans the spectrum of the life cycle. Care will be directed at assessing, diagnosing, and treating human responses to perceived actual or potential physical or psychological problems recognizing that each age group has unique developmental characteristics influencing the approach that should be utilized in caring for these patients.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate Degree required with BA/BS degree preferred
• Will accept five plus (5+) years of applicable experience in a supervisory capacity in lieu of higher education.
• Two (2) previous supervisory experience required.
• Previous budgetary experience required.
• Tactful, respectful, and courteous in dealing with patients, visitors, students, residents, physicians, and staff.
• Able to maintain effective working relationships with personnel and medical staff.
• Successfully completed orientation program within 90 days.
• Demonstrates ability to work with self-direction with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work closely with multiple teams.
• Previous experience with accreditation including the Joint Commission
