Job summary

South Port Square in Port Charlotte, FL, seeks a Clinic Nurse to support the Health & Wellness Director with daily clinical tasks, admissions, and care coordination for residents. This part-time role offers a friendly team, competitive pay, and a community focused on dignity and safety for seniors.

You'll assist with rounds, orders, and family communications, while maintaining confidentiality and providing compassionate, professional care in a senior living environment near Charlotte Harbor.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; LPN with Florida license.
• 2 years of long-term care or assisted living/memory care preferred.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Maintain the highest level of confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assists in admission and discharge procedures.
• Responds to resident emergency calls.
• Transcribes orders and rounds with physicians.
• Keeps physician and family informed of changes in resident condition.
• Maintains resident dignity, safety, and continuity of care.
• Attends in-service trainings and education sessions.
• Performs duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Proactively resolves resident issues related to responsibilities.
• Works under time pressure and supports a safe work environment.
• Collaborates as a team and adapts to change.
• Administers direct care as necessary.

About The Role

The Clinic Nurse is responsible for assisting the Health & Wellness Director(s) with day-to-day clinical tasks including but not limited to follow-up with resident’s providers; ensuring orders are received timely and entered correctly; assisting with components of admissions/readmissions; assist with chart/medication cart audits; monitoring clinic phone line and returning calls in a timely manner.

Daily responsibilities

• Assists in admission and discharge procedures.
• Responds to resident emergency call system as indicated.
• Makes rounds with physicians and transcribes orders.
• In conjunction with Health & Wellness Director, keeps physician and family aware of change in resident’s condition.
• Maintains the self-respect, personal dignity, and physical safety of each resident.
• Assures continuity of services and care.
• Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
• Performs specific work duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor.
• Assumes a proactive role in resolving resident issues & concerns related to assigned areas of responsibility.
• Functions under intense time pressure.
• Contributes to a positive, healthy, and safe working environment.
• Works as a member of the team.
• Accepts change in a positive manner.
• Performs any other relevant duties as assigned.
• Administer direct care as necessary.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. LPN with a current license in Florida.
• At least 2 years’ experience long-term care or assisted living/memory care preferred.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
• Basic mathematical Skills required.
• Maintain the highest level of confidentiality.

Salary: From $28.00 per hour
