Job summary

South Port Square is hiring a part-time Clinic Nurse in Port Charlotte, FL to assist the Health & Wellness team with daily clinical tasks, admissions, and rounds. You will help ensure orders arrive promptly, engage with providers, and keep residents safe and well cared-for.

Requirements include an LPN license in Florida, 2+ years in long-term care or memory care, and solid English communication. The role includes a daytime shift and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and LPN license in Florida.
• At least 2 years’ experience in long-term care or assisted living/memory care preferred.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to use standard software.
• Must read, write and speak English clearly and confidentially.
• Basic mathematical skills and ability to document accurately.

Responsibilities

• Assist with admissions and discharges alongside the Health & Wellness Director.
• Respond to resident emergency calls and transcribe orders with physicians.
• Maintain communication with physicians and families about changes in condition.
• Administer direct care as needed and participate in chart/medication audits.
• Support a safe, positive, and respectful resident environment.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Clinic Nurse is responsible for assisting the Health & Wellness Director(s) with day-to-day clinical tasks including but not limited to follow-up with resident’s providers; ensuring orders are received timely and entered correctly; assisting with components of admissions/readmissions; assist with chart/medication cart audits; monitoring clinic phone line and returning calls in a timely manner.

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of the Clinic Nurse:

• Assists in admission and discharge procedures.


• Responds to resident emergency call system as indicated.


• Makes rounds with physicians and transcribes orders.


• In conjunction with Health & Wellness Director, keeps physician and family aware of change in resident’s condition.


• Maintains the self-respect, personal dignity, and physical safety of each resident.


• Assures continuity of services and care.


• Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.


• Performs specific work duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor.


• Assumes a proactive role in resolving resident issues & concerns related to assigned areas of responsibility.


• Functions under intense time pressure.


• Contributes to a positive, healthy, and safe working environment.


• Works as a member of the team.


• Accepts change in a positive manner.


• Performs any other relevant duties as assigned.


• Administer direct care as necessary.

Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. LPN with a current license in Florida.

Salary: From $28.00 per hour
