Job summary

Ozark Health Medical Center, Inc. is seeking a Clinical Support role to assist physicians with procedures and minor surgeries in the clinic. The position handles patient prep, education, diagnostic tests, and coordination with hospitals, nursing homes, pharmacies, and other offices to ensure patient flow.

Responsibilities include preparing patients for exams, documenting results, and maintaining equipment. The role requires an Arkansas license and a degree from an accredited institution.

Qualifications

  • Current Arkansas license and degree from an accredited institution are required.
  • Previous clinical experience preferred; lab, EKG and X-ray experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic tests quickly and documents results in the patient chart.
  • Explains exam nature and educates patients as directed by physician.
  • Arranges follow-up and continuing care, including outpatient procedures or hospital admissions.
  • Receives and organizes medical samples; maintains supplies inventory and submits requests.
  • Administers injections or medications per physician orders and keeps accurate records.
  • Screens patient calls, returns messages, and documents orders and prescriptions.
  • Assists staff to maintain smooth patient flow in the clinic.
  • Audits medical records for completeness; obtains pre-authorizations.

Job Summary

This individual is responsible for patient preparation, as well as, assisting the physician with procedures and minor surgeries. Also performs various diagnostic tests and patient education in the clinic. Maintains equipment and acts as liaison between the physician and all outside agencies to include hospitals, nursing homes, DME companies, pharmacies, HMO’s and other physician’s offices, as well as with the patient. Supports other medical staff members as necessary to maintain patient flow.

Requirements
  • Current Arkansas License. Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Previous clinical experience preferred. Lab. EKG. and X-ray experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma/GED
Responsibilities/Duties
  • Performs any diagnostic tests quickly and accurately and documents results in patient’s chart.
  • Thoroughly explains the nature of exam, tests, or treatment to the patient and maintains accurate records for follow-up of test results. Performs any patient education deemed necessary by the physician.
  • Makes appropriate arrangements for follow-up and/or continuing care to include: outpatient procedures, hospital admissions, etc.
  • Receives and organizes medical samples daily, maintains inventory of medical supplies and submits requests for medical supplies in writing to the clinic manager.
  • Administers injections or medications using appropriate technique as ordered by physician and maintains accurate records of each per regulatory guidelines.
  • Screens patient telephone calls, return messages, reports test results as needed, calls in orders and prescriptions and documents neatly and accurately in chart.
  • Assists other staff members as needed to ensure smooth patient flow throughout the clinic.
  • Accurately audits the patient’s medical records to ensure completeness.
  • Obtains any pre-authorizations necessary for the physician to conduct the exam and/or procedure.
  • Escorts the patient to the exam room, accurately records vital signs, height, weight, brief history, current medications and prepares the patient for exam.
  • Replaces table paper, cleans and stocks exam rooms as needed.
  • Completes appropriate paperwork within the realm of authority regarding physical exam in a timely manner.
  • Ensures that equipment is clean and/or sterile for the physician’s use.
  • Prepares patient for X-ray and completes appropriate forms as necessary.
  • Assists the physician during procedures and/or minor surgeries as directed, and cleans up afterwards in a timely manner.
