The University of Miami UHealth – Orthopedics Sports Medicine at SoLé Mia has an exciting opportunity for a Clinic Athletic Trainer 2.

Core Job Functions:

1. Conduct comprehensive or episodic health history and physical assessments of patients with injuries and illnesses.
2. Take thorough histories, including chief complaints, vitals, pain scores, injury mechanisms, medical history, and review of systems.
3. Perform physical examinations such as range of motion, strength testing, neurovascular assessment, palpation, and functional testing.
4. Present cases to attending physicians, including imaging results.
5. Transcribe and execute standing orders under physician supervision, including ordering and reviewing imaging, lab work, and referrals.
6. Provide patient education on rehabilitation exercises and injury management.
7. Fit patients with orthopaedic appliances, instruct on proper use, and coordinate billing with providers.
8. Perform wound care, gait training, casting, suture removal, and dressing changes.
9. Assist physicians with injections, surgical preparations, and documentation.
10. Coordinate surgical scheduling and act as liaison among patients, surgeons, and staff.
11. Communicate with patients and staff regarding care and record documentation.
12. Assist with administrative tasks such as billing, insurance authorizations, and appointment scheduling.
13. Support clinic organization and patient flow, including rescheduling and patient inquiries.
14. Serve as a preceptor or mentor for students in sports medicine.
